                                                  GOODBYE 2014

As we are literally left with a few breaths before we say hello to 2015,sadly, we also say goodbye to the great fashion and trends of this year. I think(my opinion) this year has been a really fabulous one creatively. The pieces that were key EVERY season just resonated with me. I felt like people took risks that paid off, more especially locally. And I know no one could have agreed with me more than my girl (and HUUUUUUGE Fashion freak) Aone Ditirwa, also known as @aonethefashionpoet

Here is my beat-down!

ENJOY!

PENCIL(OR TEA LENGTH) SKIRTS

                                                                                                                    YARN HIPSTER X MMAMONTLE COLLABORATION

There is absolutely nothing more heart-warming and exhilarating than reaching a goal you made a long time ago and have people appreciate you for it. When I was young,my friends and I would get together during tea break and talk about what we each wanted to be  when we grew up. They would all yell ''doctor'' or ''nurse'' but when it was turn,I would just say I don't know simply because I did not know the terms folk used to describe a fashion enthusiast. I knew I wanted to do something creative but I did not know what exactly...up until I starting reading fashion magazines and watching fashion shows on tv.
That was when I stopped and said ''THIS IS IT!! I HAVE FOUND MY CALLING''. From then on I was hooked.Fashion was like my life support. I was a chain smoker and it was an unlimited carton of cigarettes. It fed me. It fed my soul.

Today I am Thapelo Letsebe. An aspiring fashion designer and a stylist.
Years and years later(yes I am older than I look) I got together with what I believe are some of Botswana's best fashion multipliers to do a collaboration between Mmamontle and my new label YarnHipster‬. This was definitely one of the highlights of my year,to be afforded the opportunity to work with such amazing souls who are extremely talented, humble and ,to some extent, visionaries. I was thoroughly inspired by their contributions behind and before the camera. Gaone Mothibi, Tsholo Dikobe, Thuto Seane, ‪#‎caseypurshouse‬Lorraine Binie Kinnear, Tshepo-Losyka Kutjwe and my sister/friend/mentor Cynthia B. Mothelesi and the amazing photographer Kago of Kagography.
